That’s exactly what we’re doing at Bakersfield College, where Braun Electric is proud to be part of a transformative project: the construction of a brand-new 154-bed student residence hall.

More Than a Building — A Place to Belong

This isn’t just another job-site. It’s the future home of students who are chasing degrees, building careers, and working hard to shape their lives. For many students, this will be their first opportunity to live on campus year-round while focusing on their education.

Our role? To ensure that the power is reliable, safe, and built to last — because when the lights stay on and systems work flawlessly, students can focus on what really matters: learning, growing, and thriving.

What We’re Powering

The residence hall project includes:

• 154 beds of secure, modern housing
• Year-round infrastructure designed to serve students from all backgrounds
• Resource-rich spaces that support studying, wellness, and community

Our crews are working on everything from lighting and distribution systems to backup power and infrastructure that supports the building’s long-term efficiency.

Why This Project Matters to Us

As a local company with deep roots in Kern County, Braun Electric knows the value of community. Many of our own team members, apprentices, and family members have walked the halls of Bakersfield College. Some even got their start there.

Being part of a project that gives back to students — and helps open doors for the next generation — is a full-circle moment for us.
